Servings: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 medium frozen bananas, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
  • 1 scoop vanilla or unflavored protein powder (whey or plant-based)
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (or dairy-free yogurt)
  • 1/2–3/4 cup milk of choice (start with 1/2 cup and add as needed)
  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed or chia seeds (optional, for fiber and healthy fats)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt (optional, enhances the peanut flavor)
  • Toppings: sliced banana, fresh berries, granola, chopped peanuts, cacao nibs, dark chocolate shavings, coconut flakes, drizzle of honey or maple syrup

Instructions

  • Prep your base: Add frozen banana slices, peanut butter, protein powder, Greek yogurt, flax or chia (if using), vanilla, and a small pinch of salt to a high-speed blender.
  • Add liquid gradually: Pour in 1/2 cup of milk to start. You want a thick blend, so it’s better to add more later than to make it runny now.
  • Blend low and slow: Start on low speed and use a tamper if your blender has one. Blend until smooth and thick, stopping to scrape the sides as needed. If it’s too thick to move, add a splash more milk.
  • Taste and adjust: If you prefer it sweeter, add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup. For more peanut punch, add another teaspoon of peanut butter. Blend again briefly.
  • Serve immediately: Spoon the mixture into bowls. The texture should hold its shape like soft-serve.
  • Add toppings: Go for a mix of crunch (granola, nuts), freshness (berries, banana slices), and richness (cacao nibs, dark chocolate). A light drizzle of honey can brighten the flavors.
